Where do I start? Jamie and I left May 23rd/2021 for Tijuana Mexico. After getting some very scary news from my Canadian doctors that I had 10 different cysts/lesions/ growths on my thyroid and kidney. We decided to play it safe and go to Tijuana and see my Doctor there and find out what was going on. This was the smartest thing we could ever do. My doctor there does all kinds of tests they do not do here in Canada. ( but they could ). Only to find out I have no active cancer in my body right now. Yes my thyroid is not working. But my doctor here can continue to treat it for me.

After getting my results Jamie and I felt like such a weight off our shoulders. We continued treatment everyday at the clinic. There as usual we met some wonderful people. Most of who had cancer of some sort and “ALL” were being treated by Dr Castillo and having great success. I so believe in this clinic and the treatments that are there. And every time I meet such wonderful people. We all exchange phone numbers and names. Everyone is happy even though everyone is going through some kind of disease mostly cancers of some kind. Most have been told at home ( wherever that maybe) there is nothing more that can be done. So go get your affairs in order. Only to come to this clinic and have hope again. I believe in miracles and I see them everyday that I am there. Anyone who wants to know more please be sure to contact me. My trip to Dr Castillo’s clinic was as per usual the best thing I could have ever done. 🤗😁I will also say Jamie has fit right in and sees miracles everyday, and can’t wait to tell me all his stories of the people he has met as I was in treatment. He patiently sat for 3 to 4 hours everyday waiting for me. That is true LOVE ❤️❤️ thanks Babe.

Now the craziness starts !!!!! Because Monday the 31st of May was a holiday in the States we decided to cross the border from Tijuana to San Diego on Sunday. We moved to a hotel in San Diego and spent the afternoon at Sea Port Village walking the wharf and enjoying a beautiful sunny day off. We were on the 37 th floor and the view was amazing. A really nice finish to our trip.

I forgot to say how the airports were going down. We flew from Calgary on Sunday afternoon at 1pm. We were like so dumbfounded at how empty it was. There was no one anywhere. We parked at park and fly there were 3 vehicles there. In the terminal there was nobody. We had to get a Covid test that had to be done 72 hours before our flight at $150.00 each. Nobody ever asked for it and we showed it to no one. But we had it. Nothing was open anywhere to get food or drinks. It was like a ghost town. We arrived in Dallas and it was like there was no Covid. Everything was open all the restaurants everything. There were a few people wearing masks. But not everyone that’s for sure. We got to San Diego same thing. Everything was open and a few people with masks. Not even any social distancing. Crazy world. 🤦🏼‍♀️.

We get to San Diego airport all is well. We calmly fly to Dallas Fort Worth. Then the crazy starts. Every hour they announce our flight time has changed we took the airport tram across the airport 4 times. We were to leave at 7 pm around 10:30pm they tell us our flight is cancelled to Calgary. Now about 300 or 350 people are all scurrying around to see what we do. Finally American Airlines says they will get us all to Vancouver and then Calgary. Most of us have again got a Covid test (this time it was 180.00 US) but because of the holiday weekend we all got them Saturday and they will run our Monday. We all want to get to Canada. ( again nobody has ever asked to see our tests. NOBODY) Around midnight we arrive in Vancouver. We get off the airplane to airport security everywhere, then on to another area where there are people in red vests they tell us it is the Health Services we now find out our luggage is not here. But they say it will arrive in the morning they will take it to our hotel room. . Everyone I mean everyone is told we HAVE to book a hotel right there and then. Or face fines from police also standing there trying to see who will refuse. They say it is a 3200,00 fine per person. We are forced to get a hotel. They actually call the hotels and book us in. All at our expense. ( I also have a letter to exempt us from this part of the process. But because we are in Vancouver and our car is in Calgary we have no where to go ). We are forced to get a hotel 756.00 a night plus tax. After we try to argue this along with a few hundred people yelling and crying and so frustrated. We book the hotel and off to next area. Another Covid test nobody has looked at the last two but we HAVE to get another. Line up again a few hundred people. Only two people doing the test with about 40 booths set up. Then they send us off to said hotel for us Fairmont hotel at the airport. We get to our room at 4 am exhausted and with no luggage. But we will be ok for one night. The airline gave us a little bag of toiletries, so does the hotel. We see the room I expected gold fixtures for that much a night. But nope. Just a plane hotel room worth 846.00 with tax. We had to pay for three nights. We also stayed at Tijuana for 8 nights for 860.00 the whole time. We fall into bed in our underwire totally exhausted and so frustrated. We decide to take clothes off and save in case luggage gets here late in the day. Next day ! 😜 we are told we can not leave hotel room until we get Covid test results.

Tuesday morning we shower and get cleaned up. We use the toiletries that we were given. The tooth brush has one row of bristles enough toothpaste for one brush. It looks like a toy . We get a comb, a razor and mouthwash. Try as I might that was pretty hard to make me feel good. No hairspray or moose ( remember I am a hairdresser I like my hair looking nice ) for my hair. No make up. And NO clean clothes. We call about luggage. They can’t find but will get back to us. Nobody ever got back to us. I called 5 times Tuesday looking. Everyone told us something else. Luggage was combing. Luggage went to Colorado ? I know we were wondering too. Then it went to Seattle. But no luggage. We spent some real QUALITY time in that room. We were both grouchie. Worried about luggage I had $3500.00 US dollars worth of supplements and vitamins from my Mexico Doctor. Enough to last a full year. We took that much because we didn’t want to worry about Covid travel again we had no idea.

Jamie gets his Covid results about 10 am the next morning. I call to see where mine is. They told me not to call before 30 hours. I waited the full 30 hours and I call finally they send me my results. We start looking for flights home. They were like 1000.00 to Calgary. We finally called our travel agent from Edson. ( if anybody ever needs a travel agent this lady is the best ) anyway. So we go off to the hotel and say we are checking out. They are ok and I ask for the extra day we are not using to get my money back. They say yes. Even though we were told when we booked that it is none refundable. They don’t ask for Covid test. Off we go to fly home. All along calling American Airlines. Luggage is no where to be found. Off to Calgary we are hoping luggage is there. The www I use to look up luggage says it is in Calgary now. But we can’t get a answer on any phone numbers. No one asks to see Covid test again. Vancouver airport looks deserted.

We get to Calgary we finally get an answer on the phone and they tell us one piece of luggage is there. NOW to get help we go to lost luggage that’s what the phone person told us she said she called ahead it was there. They would be waiting for us. Only to find Calgary does not have such a thing. American Airlines has a flight coming in and information says go to them. It will be in there are locked up. We walk the 5 miles across the airport. Finally someone tells us yes it is there. But locked up. NO ONE has a key this late at night. We are like your kidding. Jamie is ready to hit someone by now. They said we will send it to you tomorrow. Our flight got into Calgary at 7 pm now it is midnight. We’re tired haven’t eaten all day. Nowhere to get any food. Calgary airport is like a ghost town too. We make the decision to go home. We’re going to Edmonton to our son Gordon’s house for the night. We get just past Red Deer it is 1:30 am we get a call from the airport. The guy says he found the key and got into locked room our luggage is there. We could come back and get it. Jamie and I look at each other. No Way. We don’t even believe at this point our luggage is there.

We get to Gordon’s at 3am his furnace is malfunctioning it is 27.5 in his house it feels like an oven. We strip down all our clothes so I can wash them. We both borrow Gordon’s underwear and I put our three day old clothes in wash. Jamie opens all windows and turns furnace down to 20. We finally fall into bed at 4am. After we ate a few crackers and cheese. I wake at 5:30 am. House is hot I check furnace back to 27,5. So I call Gordon and we turn furnace completely off now. Back to bed. Up again at 8. We both shower and I get our clothes to wear home. Now the carbon monoxide monitor is going off Vivint calls to send fire truck Jamie does not know code. I run up from down stairs and tell them everything is ok. Oh boy 🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️we call the airline again. They say one bag is in Calgary they are getting the other from Seattle ( no idea why it is in Seattle) and they will deliver both to us in Edson today. We’re like NO WAY that is going to happen. I just want to be home.

We stop for coffee and bacon and egger. off to Edson and home. I can’t wait. We turn into the drive way at our home. My phone rings it’s the airline. They have found both bags and they are in Calgary they will send to us tomorrow. We give our address again. About the hundredth time.

I Unpack our few things. Toothbrush with no bristles I could have used my finger better. Put away my travel documents. I will not Covid travel again. We settle in. I make supper and we relax for the evening. About 10 pm tonight we get a call from WestJet. The lady says I have no idea why American Airlines sent your luggage to us. But we have both bags in Edmonton. I really questioned her. She said she checked the itineraries and the luggage has really travelled all over. But she has them they can send them to us but not before Monday. Jamie says he will go get them. He is getting up early and going to Westjet Edmonton airport hopefully to get our bags and all my supplements. Fingers crossed this is real. 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

Hopefully this is the end to our crazy few days. I don’t know if anybody is going to check on us and see if we are at our place. But really we could walk around the airport and fly. Nobody checked on us or our Covid tests not one time. So I have no idea what happens next. We do have to do another Covid test on Monday and send it into AHS. That will be 4 tests in less than two weeks. I should sure be Covid free. All tests are negative so far. 🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃
