Valentine’s Day was yesterday and a year ago yesterday I started my chemo treatment. That treatment almost killed me. It was the worst part about having my cancer by far. Lucky for me we found Dr Castillo’s clinic in Tijuana Mexico. I truly believe he saved my life. So here I am living life to the fullest. What difference a year makes. I never thought last year that this year I would be on a holiday in Mexico
I Booked myself a facial for Valentines, because Jamie cannot give me any chocolate. Because of my hoxey diet. I have not had a facial in years. It felt so good and my face feels like a babies bottom soft as silk. I actually fell asleep a few times that’s how relaxed I was. (Mexico does that too me) The lady kept wakeing me up saying miss miss. I dont know how she knew I was sleeping unless of course I was snoring. Jamie sometimes accuses me of snoring but I always argue that I don’t ?? lol lol
We decided to spend a little time down at the Malacon yesterday. It was a very hot day and I had to keep finding shade in all the corners. I of course had to go pee and needed to find a decent bathroom. Jamie asked a police officer and he directed me to the passport office downtown in the Center of the Malacon. By the time I got there I was desperate. Until I got into the stall not only was there no toilet paper, you had to grab it on the way in which I didn’t see of course ????? Dughhhhh ????? but there was no toilet seat, only a porcelain bowl. I had to hover over. Only in Mexico they say !!!
We did a little shopping on the Malacon looking for trinkets to take home to our little people. I was shopping in the shade of one store when Jamie was sitting on a bench patiently waiting for me. He was eating ice cream. He reached into his shorts pocket to grap a napkin he had and all his money fell out onto the ground. He didn’t notice at all but a girl working in the shop next to the one I was in saw it fall and came to tell him. Very nice of her, well deserved tip there. Then it goes to me….I told you to put your money in your wallet. Lol lol
Poor Jamie he loves watches and always buys one where ever we go. So of course he bought one downtown yesterday. But he didn’t get the guy to set the time so when we were driving back to the room in the crazy drivers taxi, we tried to set the time. BUT the little piece you use to set the time fell out ….. So I guess another trip downtown to get it returned. I hope the guy remembers him ??
So ever since we had the earthquake, that shook me so hard I fell out of bed!!! Ok I didn’t fall out of bed but that would be a good story. Lol lol I did jump out of bed though. Other people are telling us they have felt tremors. But Jamie and I have not. There is a big sign at the elevators, in case of earthquake do not take elevators. Now we are on the top floor the 8th floor, I know there are a lot of higher buildings here. But if there is another earthquake it is a long way to the ground. The stairs go around in circles it could take 10 minutes to get down. I have checked out all the possibilities of how to get down stairs. Without jumping over the railing onto a palm tree. I wonder how strong a palm tree is if you jump into it?? Then how to get down from the palm tree?? That is if there is no tsunami coming in to drown me. Oh the worries I have.???
So we get back to the room today for a little cool down it is very hot today. There is a knock at the door there stands a little tiny Mexican lady with a mask on and a tank of something tied onto her back with a spray wand in her hand. After a lot of hand talking and each of us getting in a word or two we understood of each other’s language. She said she was here to spray the two plants we have on our deck. I was like not with us in here. She had a mask but we didn’t. Not to healthy I think. ??????? So come back tomorrow she said. Make flowers pretty. I hope I catch her tomorrow too. I was like no …no… flowers already pretty. No chemicals around me I told her. She laughed as she left. Jamie and I wondered what was in her tank ??
I had to see some laundry out yesterday just a few things to get us by until we go home. Like underware and a few tops. It was back in 2 hours folded so pretty my underware I didn’t want to use them this morning. Lol lol. Jamie asked if he should use his shirts they looked to nice hanging in the bags like dry cleaning. I tried to pay when the girl brought them back but she said no! charged to your room. I hope I didn’t buy someone a small washing machine for the price of our laundry. He he. Only in Mexico they say !
We have met some really nice people here. There is a few couples 3 to be exact that have taken Jamie and I under their wings so to say!! This resort is a lot of older retired people. There is a kids area but it is separate with their own pool too. Jamie gets his kids fixes each day playing with the little ones. Anyway these couples keep calling us the kids. Even at our age. Lol lol. Tonight they are taking us to the Marina to a special restaurant they all like. Then there are a few shops where they say the MOUNTAIN Mexicans come from with their goods and that everything is very different. So off we go on an adventure tonight. These couples are all Canadian, from Saskatchewan. One lady that I have become friends with was so burnt the first few days she peeled her whole nose off and her lips. She is so brown like the outside of a coconut, she just can’t understand that I am always sitting in the shade with 65 sunscreen on ( only because I couldn’t find higher ) but Jamie is sitting in the sun getting more freckles by the day……..Only in Mexico they say.
