October 15/2019 Only in Mexico

Well this just happened !!!!!!!!

Ok let me back up a bit ..

Friday night Jamie and I picked up Mac and Jolee’s kids, from school. They were going to a concert and we said we would keep the kids. It just so happened that it was BJ’s 39 th Birthday that day. Jamie had asked Hannah the night before what she would like to do. He said she could pick anything. She chose to come out to Gibbons and go to BJ’s grave for his birthday. So we pick them all up and off to Gibbons we go. After a stop at the dollar store for balloons for the grave. The kids all put the balloons on the grave then Hannah says ok let’s sing Happy Birthday, so they all sing. Then we say good-bye and start to head to the truck. Ava says one minute Mama. She goes back to BJ’s grave gets down on her knees, bows her head down, folds her hands in prayer, and says a prayer to BJ all by herself. My heart was full with the kindness and love that these kids have for Uncle BJ. Someone they have never even met. Good job in raising great little human beings Mac and Jolee. ❀️

On Saturday I spend the day getting the house all cleaned, then I packed to get us ready to go to Mexico for Sunday morning. When I say us I mean for Jamie and me. He brings the suitcase to the door and that’s where he stops. I pack everything for him right down to his razor and deodorant. And then I pack myself. I wish I could be happy with someone packing for me. I mean what if I didn’t have shirts to match my shoes or my purse. What would I do? He doesn’t know what he has to wear until we get there. At which time I unpack everything into the closet and drawers. Place all our toiletries into the bathroom. While he is asleep on the bed. So tired from the trip. Just once I wish that was me. Lol lol

Jamie and I arrived at San Diego airport. There is supposed to be someone from the clinic there to pick us up and take us to our hotel. I had no faith that would happen. I was sure somewhere in the translation it would be screwed up and we would be stuck. But sure enough our ride was there took us across the border no problems. We are staying in Tijuana this time. I felt very safe with Jamie so thought I would see how I like it. No more 2 to 3 hours waiting at the border. We got to our hotel The Hyatt, always stayed at the Best Western in San Diego before. Let me tell you. This hotel is 100 times better than the BW. 7 minute ride to the clinic. The clinic sets up drivers for us to and from the hotel. We couldn’t ask for anything better. So happy πŸ˜ƒ

Our first morning at the clinic we have to fast from midnight the night before. So we walk out the hotel past the buffet. That looks fabulous of course. Off to the clinic. Jamie’s first time here. We go to the lab to do our blood and urine. I do mine first. Then Jamie is up, the technician does one needle and she misses, so she has to try again. Poor Jamie he got all sick and felt like fainting. He turned totally white. And of course if any of you know my family we all laugh when something bad happens to someone else. (Within reason lol lol). I got the giggles and Jamie is about to pass out, the girls working there was very sympathetic to Jamie when she saw me laughing. All done Jamie has something to eat and feels much better. We are off to see the doctor now. She does full physicals on both of us. Then tell us what treatment we will need. Jamie has a soar throat and ears so she says he should start with vitamins first day then cealation after that. He say how do I get the vitamins? She says by intervenes he says you mean needles. Yup she says. He agrees to it after some coaxing by me. Then he says he looks more forward to the machine to do the cealation. The dr says what? He says the machine where you take all my blood out clean it and put it back in. She laughs and says no no it is also done by intervenes. He looks at me and says this is a trap!!! I start laughing again poor guy had no idea what he was in for. lol lol. Off to the clinic we go for treatment. I again go first for my needles. Then Jamie, any of my Mexico friends who know the nurse Mika know how good she is at needles. But Jamie watching me and then going next this time all the blood drains from his face even scared Mika a little she told him he is to big to faint. He came very very close this time. Laid his head back and closed his eyes. Finally he came around. All the while I am laughing. Such a bad habit. ( Cathy and Lynne I know you guys are laughing reading this too) poor Jamie.

Back to the clinic today. Jamie was all good going in there. Until the needles came out again, he made it through cealation. But I am afraid that’s it for him he says. No more big needles. Then my B17 comes out. Now that is a big needle. He looks at me and says oh boy here we go again. The guy next to me even tries to joke with Jamie, he does not find any of this funny. Again I laugh. Poor Jamie

Ok we’ll back to this just happened. Here is the really great news. We both see the doctor today for all our results. Jamie has also done all the testing. Well we couldn’t have asked for better results. We both passed with flying colours. Jamie has no cancer markers, blood pressure good, cholesterol good, Diabeties is great. She told him everything was great. Except he was a little low on red meat. He needs to eat more. I am always getting him to have chicken or fish. Lol lol you win that one Jamie. As for me. Everything is great. My cancer markers are great. I was in the 500’s when I came the first time. I worked down to only 18 one year ago and now I am at 4. She told me I am doing great, I am following the Hoxsey great and she couldn’t be more pleased with my treatment plan. WOW. We both walked out of there smiling and so happy. Feeling as if the world was off our shoulders.

I want to thank Jamie for all his support through my cancer journey and all my expensive treatments. He has held me when I cried and held me up when I needed a lift. Always there for me. I love you Babe. Also all my family who have supported me through all this too. So much so that they made a totally Hoxsey dinner for me for my birthday. Last but not least my friends, you know who you are. I could never have come this far without my whole support system. Thanks to all of you I will be forever great-full. ❀️❀️❀️ Had we listened to my doctors back home I would be two years dead already. Put that in your hat and think about it. 😒

Jamie and I have even ventured out and did some shopping at a couple malls. Have not bought anything yet but we have just been out looking. There is a groceries store right next door we bought a few things for the room water and crackers and stuff. Then last night Jamie heard about a casino down the road. So off we go in the afternoon about 3pm. We get there, first we go through security and then we are taken to a area that is caged like a cashier Jamie has to get a card to play there. May I remind you we are in Tijuana and there is a language barrier. After finally figuring out what they need ID and address. We now are taken to a cashier ( looks same as the last) there you put money on the card to play. Off we go. I don’t play so I find a comfy chair and I play on my phone. About only 10 minutes go by. Then these alarms start going off everywhere. All the staff is running around. I didn’t know what was happening. I head over to where Jamie is, a staff is telling him to cash in and go home. We head to the cashier and Jamie cashes in 25,000.00 pesos he didn’t realize what he even had. Turns out it is $1715.00 Canadian. I was so happy for that fire alarm Lol lol win win for me. We left money in hand. Great day.

One last story Jamie and I are on the first floor of our hotel room. The first night we get here we are tired from the long trip. We get in the elevator to go to our room the elevator doors close and we wait. Doesn’t move we push the buttons again …. nothing. Finally the doors open we push our floor the doors close but we don’t go anywhere. Again the doors open this time we get out all mad that the elevator doesn’t work. We are tired and just want to go to our room. Another guy gets in the new elevator with us and holds his card key up to the numbers and the elevator goes. Welllllll nobody told us that. Off we go to our room. Country folk. Then we leave to go have some supper. We decided to take the stairs the elevator is to complicated. Lol lol we go down the stairwell it is three flights ( remember we are on the first floor or so we thought) and there is no door to the lobby it is to a very sketchy back alley. I convince Jamie that is dangerous and up the stairs we go three flights. There is no door handle to get back into the hallway. Back down the stairs to the creepy back alley I have Jamie convinced someone will jump out and kidnap us. We run to the street then walk all calm like we are Mexican or something. Only in Mexico !!!! 😎

Today’s saying: “what’s the most important thing you’ve done this year ?” ” Survived.”
