Sept 20/2022 Life in the Fast Lane

That sums up my life. Being in the fast lane. I always do everything fast. Walk, talk, life. I think I never want to run out of time so I do everything fast, so I always have time. Some might laugh at my talking fast. I have carried that handle most of my life even from my school years. 🤭

The past few moths have really gone by fast. We are still living in Fraser Lake BC, and I love it here. We have a beautiful lot. Jamie got the guy who does all the building for the job to make me a beautiful picnic table, also 4 raised bed flower gardens. Which I also planted a few veggies in. Then as a last surprise I got 6 folding chairs to have at our fire pit. Everything is just awesome and we are using it all. Of course they all came raw wood so I spent about a week with stain and varathane , so worth it. Mac helped Jamie build a beautiful deck for me. I feel right at home and so comfortable here. The only tough part this time is that there are no wives who have come with there husbands, as per usual. I really miss my Edson family. I have been a little lonely at times. Jamie works long hours and 6 days a week , he is pretty tired at night and goes to bed early. I am a night 🦉 owl. But I would not change being here with him for anything in the world. Mac is also on this job, I have had some great Mother/ son time. This does not happen much as they become adults so I really cherish these times as well. This is my place to be ❤️ H O M E ❤️

We had a great summer as Mac’s wife Jolee and the kids came they spent about 3 1/2 weeks with us. I loved it. We did all kinds of fun stuff, the beach here is beautiful, and the fishing has been really good as well. I got lots of grandkids hugs and lovin, you can never have to much of that. I actually cried on the morning they left, I knew I was going to miss them so much. I DO 😘

I have made the trip back and forth from Fraser Lake to St Albert 4 times this it is a long drive 9 hours. 4 hours of which there is no phone service. I am always think I will breakdown in that area for sure. So far so good. 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

Then the BIG news of the summer is that Jamie and I bought ourselves a condo in St Albert, I am in love with our new home. It is beautiful, right downtown in the old part of St Albert. We have a beautiful balcony, and on Farmers Market day I can people watch all day. Of course we decided to do a little updating, we got new floors which turned into a nightmare……. After two days of putting the floors in, living with no toilets for one night. that was awful, I won’t tell you what I used. lol lol after the installer left I washed the floor on my hands and knees because he left a big mess, I found little holes everywhere also chunks missing in the corners everywhere from him chipping off the corners with bad cuts. I was so upset !!!! That was 3 weeks ago it took that long for someone to come look at it and make an evaluation about replacing the floor. Finally they decided to-replace they come back Thursday this week to replace all the floors, no toilets again for a night. Sucks. But the floors will be done finally. I asked for a different installer BUT of course they are making him fix his job. They are bringing two extra guys, one manager, one guy from the floor company. Hopefully they get it done with no problems. I also told my installer I was going for a coffee in the afternoon he spoke really broken English. He said yes go go. I got coffee and sat on the bench outside my building for about 1/2 an hour. I came back to my room and he sitting at my table on his phone. I said what are you doing ???? He said I can’t work unless there is someone 18 or over here. I was like WTF why didn’t you tell me I didn’t have to go. I just wanted to get out. 🙃🙃

Then we replaced the counter tops I had to take everything out of the cupboards including all the drawers. This was done only 3 days after the floor nightmare. It seemed to go really good until the workers got stuck in the elevator for 45 minutes it was of course 30 degrees that day. When they finally got out the were melted. Poor guys. This also took a whole day, afterwards I had to get someone to hook all the sinks and taps up again. But after 24 hours after glue curing. I had to do everything out of the tub for a day. Then I was putting everything back and the drawers would not close. Yes this is true. They had to come back and lift the counters a little so the drawers would close. That only took a day so. I was happy . 👍🏻

My last little hiccup in the middle of the floor mess and countertop mess up. I was doing my hair in our bathroom. I always hold my head upside down for a little more fullness. ( hairdressing days trick ) I bent down and bang something hit me on the head. I was a little stunned for a minute. It was the wall to wall mirror in my bathroom it fell off the wall. It is 6 feet by 4 feet and very thick You can’t make this shit up !!!! It somehow didn’t break I think because it hit my head. But it was so heavy I couldn’t lift it up. I had to slide it up against the wall it fell from. Luckily I got it there and propped it up. After the counters were done I got a glass company from St Albert to come and put it back up. I had a golf ball size lump on my head for three days. 🤬

I have spent the month of September in our new condo doing some decorating and getting it all set up. It feels like home now. I am so happy. Jamie your the best ❤️❤️❤️ he is out there working his butt off and I am here spending. But honey I am done now. So let’s get back together, I miss you 😘

Todays saying : We take photos as a return ticket to a moment otherwise gone.

#2 : if you have made your point ……. Stop Talking.

#3 : Home-is not a place … it’s a feeling
